Kangaroo Concerts Presents “California Wolves Forever” Benefit Concert at Ashkenaz, Berkeley

Introducing Kangaroo Concerts…

The first in a series of benefits produced by Kangaroo Concerts, “California Wolves Forever” is a concert to protect wolves and wilderness!  Held At Ashkenaz Music & Dance Community Center in Berkeley, California on May 20 from 7:30pm to midnight, this evening of folk and world music will raise awareness of the need to protect wolves in the Western U.S. and beyond. Tickets are $15 per person, and proceeds will benefit the California Wolf Center’s mission of education, conservation, and research.

Headlining act Brass Menažeri is the San Francisco Bay Area’s Balkan Romani (“Gypsy”) powerhouse Brass Band, and Winner of the SF Weekly’s 2008 Music awards in the “Best International Band” category.

Opening the evening are The Shots, bridging old and new world sounds rooted in Irish and Scottish folk, Bluegrass and Country, and the San Francisco-based contemporary folk duo, Zej & Calen.

Ashkenaz Music & Dance Community Center is a nationally recognized nonprofit music and culture venue that specializes in presenting live world and roots music.

The California Wolf Center is a non-profit wildlife education center committed to increasing public awareness and understanding of the importance of all wildlife by focusing on the history, biology, behavior, and ecology of the gray wolf (Canis lupus). The California Wolf Center offers engaging educational presentations, participates in conservation programs, and hosts and funds research on both captive and free-ranging wolves.
